Jocastas are magical stones with minuscule detailed etchings on them. [The etchings were created by Reeny Warvold] The stones allow the wearer to communicate with animals.[This skill was once accessible without the stones, before the fall of the Seraphs. In places virtually untouched by human hand, this magic can still be used.] The jocastas provide a bridge of communication for humans and animals but they do not last forever. When the stones are kept around humans for too long they slowly dim until their powers are gone completely. The jocastas were hidden in a pool at the top of the mountain by the Warvold sisters and Armon for safekeeping.
